Fifth Class A celebrated World Book Day on the 8th of March. Many children dressed up as characters from their favourite books and brought in some books which they really enjoyed! We also had a Buddy Reading hour where we joined up with Kevin's 2nd Class and did some shared reading. This was really fun! Have a look at our pictures below :D
Fifth Class A took part in the Eason's Spelling Bee last week in which lots of our class were finalists! Tomorrow, Justin will go head to head against many other speller's in the city final. Best of luck Justin!
In Fifth Class we will be having an internet safety training day on Thursday 22nd February. We would like all children to carry out this simple survey at home to find out some information about their use of the web - https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/9G7DK2K
On Tuesday Fifth Class A baked some chocolate chip cookies! Everyone had great fun and even got some ideas for our school Winter Fair coming up at the weekend.
This week (13th - 17th November) was Science Week and 5th Class put together an amazing range of science projects which they presented at our school science fair.
Unfortunately our Math Week was cut short due to Storm Ophelia, however, that did not stop pupils in Fifth Class A carrying out a number of math challenges! Stay tuned and we will be posting pictures of our masterpieces in the coming days!
Today we travelled to Coláiste Mhuire in Crosshaven. It was a brilliant experience to see what a secondary school actually looks like. We saw lots of different subjects in action such as Home Economics, Music, Business Studies and PE. We all had an amazing day and even got to make our own buns!
Last week Justin published his first school newspaper 'Goss from the Boss'. This was a huge success and Justin along with reporters Ella, Katie, Darragh and Doireann are already working on the next publishment. Justin will be selling the paper at a bargain 10 cents a copy so start collecting your pennies!
